The 2009 STLsoccer.net Female Player of the Year is Lori Chalupny.

Lori Chalupny is the current captain of the US Women's National Team and captain of Saint Louis Athletica. Lori was a Women's Pro Soccer (WPS) All-Star and also received the STLsoccer.net Player of the Year award last year. Read more on Lori's career - click here.

Criteria: must be from St. Louis area or have played in St. Louis for 2 years.

Congratulations to Lori for a great year and to all the candidates listed below.

Jan - Kati Jo Spisak - Washington Freedom - good start of year
Feb - Ashlee Pistorius - Saint Louis Athletica - decent but no
Mar - Lori Chalupny - Saint Louis Athletica - clear winner
Apr - Becky Sauerbrunn - Washington Freedom - great year - runner up
May - Jennifer Nobis - Boston Breakers - not yet
Jun - Blake Miller - West Virginia University - great year too young
Jul - Maggie Kistner - University of Virginia great year too young
Aug - Susan Frederickson - Saint Louis University - great year too young
Sep - Kelly Waeckerle - Saint Louis University - great year too young
Oct - Andrea Barklage - Saint Louis University - great year too young
Nov - Kaylee Neutzling - Lewis and Clark - incredible player, watch her! where is she going now? 3rd place
Dec - Alyssa Mautz - Texas A&M - great year, too young, on USWNT hunt, watch her. 4th place

congrats to Lori, this is amazing that she is captain of the national team and from St. Louis. Great job Lori!
